Carlee Groves President

As the Regional Marketing Manager for RJC Engineers, Carlee is responsible and accountable for all aspects of marketing and business development for RJC’s BC operations. This includes designing and producing marketing collateral, advertisements, sponsorships, client engagement, proposal management, and the execution of various other business development activities and pursuits.

With a decade of experience in marketing and sales, Carlee is a strategic thinker and precise tactician. Carlee has superior knowledge of establishing and managing processes, and analyzing opportunities for growth.

Passionate about the real estate and development industry and volunteering her time, Carlee is also a Committee Member on the BC Children’s Hospital Real Estate and Development Committee.

Krystal Smith Vice-President

Krystal is the Director of Business Development for Stuart Olson Construction Ltd, a leader in integrated construction services across Canada. Krystal leads the business development and marketing efforts within BC, which includes building relationships and promoting the Stuart Olson brand. Stuart Olson is a $1 billion, publicly traded Canadian company who builds from coast to coast, with a depth of experience in constructing office towers, educational facilities, shopping centres, hospitals, community and recreational centres. Krystal also leads the CSMPS program.

Colleen Reid Treasurer

Colleen is the Principal and Proposal Manager for Red Team Strategy, a proposal development consulting firm for design-build and P3 pursuits within the AEC industry. Collaborating with national and provincial organizations, she links corporate vision to the delivery of desired results through the effective use of resources, processes, and technology. Colleen has over a decade of experience in the infrastructure and construction industry – previously working with EllisDon Corporation, Ledcor Group of Companies and SNC-Lavalin Inc. before founding Red Team Strategy.

To date, she serves as the Treasurer, working with a passionate team of other professionals expanding their knowledge of marketing.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Colleen has been involved with the Kids Help Phone Walk so Kids Can Talk campaign since 2012.

Kaitlyn Cook Director of Communications

As the Marketing Manager for Wensley Architecture Ltd. (Wensley), Kaitlyn is responsible for Wensley’s marketing initiatives throughout Western Canada. She manages all aspects of marketing including event planning and execution, sponsorships, advertising, brand management, proposals, and award submissions.

Kaitlyn also volunteers on the Commercial Real Estate Women’s (CREW Vancouver) Education & Outreach Committee, the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) Whistler Planning Committee, and is the Co-Chair for the ICSC Next Generation Vancouver Committee.

Michael Murphy Director of Sponsorships

Born and raised in Ireland, Mike emigrated to Vancouver in 2011 after earning his Master’s Degree at the National University of Ireland. Mike never looked back after this move, hitting the ground running and establishing himself as a reliable and skilled marketing professional within professional services.

With a diverse background, Mike has a proven reputation as a a person who believes in leading with accountability and integrity. Although he has experience in a number of sectors and various marketing roles, Mike’s passion lies with nurturing and building relationships. Having worked with clients in the Canadian, Irish, UK and various European markets, he has worked on some of the most impressive projects across a number of continents. Currently, as Senior Marketing & Business Development Manager Integral Group, he leads the Canada West region. Other than his leadership skills, Mike is renowned as being an approachable and sociable guy in the office. Coming from a country where conversation, good humor and storytelling are a part of the social make – up, he believes that these authentic traits are vital for building lasting business relationships.

Lauren Semancik Director of Memberships

As the Director of HR + Operations at Glotman Simpson Consulting Engineers, a 50+ year leading structural engineering firm in North America, Lauren’s role encompasses people, culture, operations, strategic marketing and business development. As a driven multi-tasker, Lauren focuses effectively on different avenues of the business simultaneously with compassion and integrity. Her people-first approach and attentive work ethic have propelled her in developing strategic solutions, aligning organizational goals with firm objectives, developing our team and building trusted relationships.

Outside the firm, Lauren is involved in numerous associations including the Commercial Real Estate Women’s (CREW Vancouver) Sponsorship Committee, the Glotman Simpson Cycling Club’s Cypress Challenge Committee, an annual event that has raised over $2.5 million to date for the BC Cancer Foundation and pancreatic cancer research, along with volunteering as a mentor with the CPHR BC & Yukon chapter for Chartered Professionals in Human Resources, and chairing an online roundtable for HR practitioners in BC.

Lisa Hanania Director of Events

Lisa is the Corporate Marketing and Communications Specialist for The AME Consulting Group Ltd., a full service mechanical engineering firm which specializes in sustainable mechanical design. Lisa gets to unleash her creative spirit overseeing marketing strategies for all three offices - Victoria, Vancouver and Calgary, all while keeping a uniform corporate brand for the company.

Lisa has a diverse range of experience in both the United States, as well as locally in Vancouver, working over many aspects of business. This experience includes marketing, accounting, human resource, executive assistant, event planning and sustainable initiatives. Passionate about creating change and making a difference, Lisa has an infectious sense of positivity and desire to help those who surround her.

Lisa holds a B.A.Sc. in Accounting from Drake University and a North American Business Management Applied Baccalaureate Diploma from Capilano University.

Kim Bilsland Director of Social Media

Kim is the Marketing Coordinator for RJC Engineers in their Vancouver office. Her role involves supporting consulting engineers to secure new business through effective marketing of their services and development of bid proposals.

After sitting on the sub-committee with CSMPS, she transitioned onto the Board where she looks forwards to building awareness of CSMPS and promoting value to the A/E/C community.

Kim has a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing Management from the University of Guelph.
